There's plenty of fun to be had when you book a hotel in Regina and enjoy these family activities and events.

It’s that time of year when we pack up our SUVs or station wagon and hit the dusty road with our families for new and exciting destinations.

Whether you’re on a cross-country adventure or are checking out some of the sights around the Prairies, do yourself a favour book a hotel in Regina and enjoy these family friendly events and activities in Saskatchewan’s capital.

1. Play all Day

One of the largest urban parks in North America, Wascana Centre is close to Regina hotels and offers a full list of things to see and do. Enjoy nature by bike or foot along one of the park’s many trails. Bring the kids to play in Candy Cane Park, which features a number of structural climbing features. Rent a canoe or kayak or take a ferryboat tour of Wascana Lake.

2. A Centre of Fun

Located near our Regina hotel suites in the heart of the city is the Brandt Centre and the Evraz Place exhibition fairgrounds.

Brandt Centre is a 6,000-seat arena and home to a number of events all year long. Bring the family to a home game featuring the Regina Pats WHL team, or pick out a family-friendly concert.

Evraz Place, located next to the Brandt Centre, is home to the Queen City Ex, Regina’s annual fair. Held over five days in the summer (2018 fair dates are Aug. 1-5), you and the kids will love the midway, concessions, exhibits, and performances.

3. Dance Me Outside

One of the biggest family events in the city takes place every summer and is when Regina SK hotels tend to fill up. The Regina Folk Festival happens over three days at Victoria Park over the second weekend of August. The festival brings well-known international artists to its main stage and includes an arts market, food court and children’s area with:

  • Music and dancing
  • Daily parade
  • Face painting

4. Save it for a Rainy Day

If the skies have turned grey and you have a few hours to spare, a visit to The Royal Saskatchewan Museum is a must-do activity. Visitors of all ages can explore the exhibits that range from earth’s early inhabitants to Aboriginal history to natural sciences and more. Kids will love the robotic T-Rex, aptly named Megamunch, and hear his iconic roar as you enter the Life Sciences Gallery.
